Hello Loyal Supporters of RetireSafe,

First off, thank you for “Standing Up” with us and giving RetireSafe the opportunity to advocate on behalf of you.  My name is Mark Gibbons and as of March 4 of this year I became the new President/CEO of RetireSafe and have the privilege of working and engaging with you on the important issues that are impacting the Seniors of this great country.

Although we try to look at all relevant issues, here is what we are currently focusing on:

• Medicare
• Medicaid
• SSN
• Drug Rebates
• Vaccination policies

To make sure RetireSafe and your voices are being heard, we will have a strong presence at the following upcoming conferences:

• American Society on Aging
• American Urological Association
• American Society of Clinical Oncology
• Biotechnology Innovation Organization
• National Council on Aging
• Alpha-1
• Ovarian Cancer
• National Association of Area Agencies on Aging
• The Florida Council on Aging

Besides these conferences, this week I will be on a panel to discuss how seniors are at risk for waterborne diseases and in June, RetireSafe will be testifying at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta to discuss the importance of seniors getting vaccinated for preventable illnesses.

What RetireSafe and I are really excited about is getting you engaged on issues that are important to you, not just for the nation, but what is happening in your state. Currently we have around 120,000 email subscribers and many of you are very active in responding to our opinion surveys, and we thank you for that.  However, we want to get you more involved in the very issues that concern you and we are ready to help.

Starting this week, we are beginning a massive “grassroots” effort and are seeking volunteers in each state to serve as our representatives.  We will section the country into six regions:  Northeast, Southeast, Great Lakes, North Central, South Central, and Western.  So, my challenge to you is “Stand Up”, get involved and join our grassroots effort to make sure that our country continues to treat our seniors with respect and dignity.

Anthony said it best: “The older I get, the greater power I seem to have to help the world; I am like a snowball – the further I am rolled, the more I gain.”

RetireSafe has a great history and you are a big part of that history.  Please join me in continuing this rich history as we grow and prepare for what lies ahead as we continue to fight and advocate for you – our SENIORS.
