RetireSafe has published the following statement opposing the planned Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) working group on prescription drug importation:

“While we support the administration’s goals to improve our country’s health care system, a working group to examine opportunities for foreign drug importation is not a viable, responsible, or effective means of doing so. Importing drugs from abroad could lead to diminished quality of medications for America’s seniors. Our country’s seniors deserve better than the potentially dangerous, counterfeit, or faulty drugs that are often the result of importation practices, and we encourage the administration to reconsider a working group dedicated to exploring this potentially harmful practice.”

Sincerely,

Thair Phillips – President of RetireSafe
