Mark Gibbons, President of RetireSafe

Mark Gibbons is the President/CEO for RetireSafe, helping to raise the platform in education and awareness for seniors across the nation. Before joining RetireSafe, Mark served 9 years at Caregiver Action Network (CAN) as the Senior Director of External Programs. Mr. Gibbons dedicated 10 years of service to the U.S. Army by serving as a Commander in Operation Desert Shield/Storm as well as Operation Provide Comfort. Following service to his country, Mark served as Chief of Staff for the Mayor of Augusta, Georgia and then as a congressional aide for Representative Charles Norwood (10th-GA). Following his relocation to Washington, DC, Mark brought his leadership skills to the syndicated television program, the McLaughlin Report and served as the Director of Operations for the American Red Cross.
Mark is a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas.

My name is Milla Grabowski and I am a sophomore at Elon University! Being from North Carolina, I anticipate the opportunity to expand my policy knowledge by working with RetireSafe in D.C. My areas of research within the organization include Medicare, senior alcoholism, advocacy, and visual design.

My name is Janelle Brown, I am a rising Junior at Miami University and am majoring in Political Science and Data Analytics and I am from Virginia Beach. While working for RetireSafe, my focus will be on Telehealth. After college I hope to work somewhere in the realm of government relations or public policy.

My name is Esther Olojo, and I am a rising sophomore at Towson University majoring in Political Science with a minor in Business Law. After finishing my undergraduate degree, I plan to attend law school and pursue corporate law. I’m excited to work with the team at RetireSafe and gain legislative experience.

My name is Gia Han Nguyen Tran, but I usually go by Han. I am currently a senior at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), majoring in Political Science, and I am a public policy intern at RetireSafe this summer in Washington, DC. My areas of research are “Border/Immigration” for the President Campaign Information Packet and “Aging in Place” for daily research topic. Outside of work, I love exploring different coffee shops around DC and enjoy the liveliness of the area.

My name is Sabrina Kropp, and I’m an intern for RetireSafe this summer. I grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I’m a rising senior at the University of Colorado Boulder, pursuing a double major in Neuroscience and Integrative Physiology with a certificate in Public Health. My area of research this summer is the 340B Drug Pricing Program. After I graduate, I plan to work in healthcare policy while pursuing a master’s in healthcare administration.

My name is Avery Shaver, and I am a rising senior at Florida State University studying Public Administration and Sociology. After graduation, I plan to join the PeaceCorps and earn my Juris Doctorate, eventually opening my own lobbying firm. I am at RetireSafe because I am passionate about meaningful policy and lobbying, especially in the healthcare sector. Outside of work, I like to swim, hike, and listen to music.

My name is Madeline Wiener. I am a student at Loyola Marymount University, located in California. I am a rising sophomore, and I am majoring in Political Science and English. While working for RetireSafe my area of focus will be on drug pricing.

My name is Roland Dornisch, and I am a senior at Lock Haven University majoring in Political Science. After finishing my undergraduate degree, I plan to get a job working in Government either at local, state or national level. I am excited to work at RetireSafe and gain experience in lobbying and advocacy.

My name is Sam Penner, I am a rising senior at the University of North Florida. I am majoring in Political Science and History. I am a hard worker, who is willing to admit when I make a mistake and fix them. I stay calm in emergency situations, and I am levelheaded. I also enjoy playing games and talking with people.
